It can be frustrating waiting around for your parcel to be delivered or collected, especially when you are balancing work, home and family life! It can feel like there’s not enough hours in the day, so the last thing you need is to be delayed in your day-to-day schedule by waiting around for your parcel to be delivered or collected from your home or work address.

With DHL eCommerce UK, you’ll never have to miss a collection or delivery again. We keep our senders and their recipients informed with door-to-door tracking and email notifications so they know when to expect our driver. Not going to be home at the time of the delivery? That’s not a problem – we have a wide range of rescheduling options so you choose the one which fits into your schedule.

Convenient Sending

If you are sending a parcel to a UK address, we offer some of the best next day delivery rates. We can also help you reach further afield with international delivery to 160 countries worldwide. We’ll collect your parcel from your door or you can choose to drop off at any of our 3,500 DHL eCommerce UK ServicePoints or 50+ depots.

When you book a home collection, you can choose which day you’d like your parcel to be collected (up to 5 days in advance) so you can pick a time which is convenient for you. On the morning of the collection, we’ll send you an estimated arrival window by email so you’ll know when to expect us.

Alternatively if you are on-the go all day, you may prefer to drop off your parcel at any of our ServicePoints or depots and save money on the cost of your parcel delivery. Our ServicePoints are open from 8am until late, 7 days a week so you drop off your parcel on the school run, your lunch break or even at the weekend.

Ensure Your Parcel Is Delivered

Whether you are run a small business or are sending a gift to a friend of loved one, we understand it is important that your parcel is delivered successfully first time. At DHL eCommerce UK, we aim to make the process of getting your parcel from you and to your recipient as stress free as possible, by offering a range of parcel collection and delivery options.

If your recipient is never at home, they may prefer to collect the parcel from their local DHL eCommerce UK ServicePoint or depot instead of getting it delivered to their house. Before booking your delivery, we recommend checking with your recipient how they would like to receive their parcel.

If you are happy for our driver to leave the parcel in a safe place (for example a shed or porch) in the event your recipient isn’t home, you can also let us know when placing your booking. Again, it’s a good idea to check with your recipient where the parcel can be left safely.

Notifications

In the run-up to the delivery, we’ll keep your recipient informed with regular email notifications. The first email will be sent when the parcel is collected and will tell your recipient the day their parcel will be delivered (typically the next working day).

On the morning of the delivery, we’ll send another email which contains an estimated time of arrival window. At this time, your recipient can opt-in to receive a ‘You’re next’ text when they are the next stop on the driver’s route.

Our online tracking is available to both you and your recipient and shows exactly where the parcel is in our network in real-time. When the parcel is out on the van, your recipient will be able to see how many stops the driver has to complete before their parcel is delivered.

Rescheduling Options

If your recipient realises they aren’t going to be at home at the time of the delivery, they can quickly and easily reschedule the delivery to another day on our Tracking website. Alternatively, they can arrange for their parcel to be delivered to a safe place, neighbour’s house or DHL eCommerce UK ServicePoint or depot. This can be done at any point in the parcel’s journey (even if it is already out on the van).

If the parcel is sent to a ServicePoint or depot, it will be available to collect for 5 working days. Our ServicePoints are located in local convenience stores and 90% of the UK population live within a 10 minute journey of a shop so your recipient can pick up their parcel and a pint of milk at the same time.

Not At Home?

Thanks to a combination of our notifications, tracking and rescheduling options, the vast majority of parcels sent through our network are successfully delivered first time, This is a huge benefit for our business customers as it reduces the number of enquiries they receive from customers.

In the event that your recipient isn’t at home, our driver will leave the parcel in a safe place, with a neighbour or at the recipient’s local ServicePoint. If the item needs to be signed for, the parcel will go back our depot and we will reattempt delivery on the following day.
