BE SENT THROUGH THE OUR NETWORK

Restricted and Prohibited items

There are some things you just can't send through our network, so it's really important to check our lists of restricted and prohibited items. This way, you can make sure your parcel gets delivered without any hiccups like cancellations, delays, seizures, or returns. Remember, as the sender, it's your responsibility to make sure only legally allowed items are sent through our network.

At DHL eCommerce UK, we don't carry any goods that are prohibited, restricted, dangerous or valuable.

Prohibited or Restricted Goods	These are items that aren't allowed by national or international law, rules, or regulations. This includes firearms, weapons, explosives, munitions (including replicas, imitations, and blank firing pistols), animals, animal parts, livestock, insects, tobacco or tobacco products, and anything else that could break laws in any country your parcel travels through.
Dangerous Goods	These are things that are considered hazardous, like acids, chemicals, and other substances that could be a danger to people's health and safety or could damage property or the environment if there's a leak or spill. This includes any hazardous items listed in the United Nations Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods (UNRTDG).
Valuable Goods	These are high-value items like gold or silver in bulk, cashier's or traveller's cheques, currency, money orders, negotiable instruments in bearer form, credit or debit cards, important documents (including passports, tenders, share and option certificates), stamps, antiques, unprotected furniture, precious stones or metals, artwork, jewellery, or valuable clothing and accessories (including designer items like watches, shoes, and handbags).

These lists aren't exhaustive; they're just a guide. It's your responsibility as the sender to make sure that your parcel's contents are legal to send to your recipient.

PROHIBITED ITEMS

It's up to you to make sure your items don't include anything that's prohibited. None of the items listed below (or anything similar) can be sent with us under any circumstances. If you send items like this, your order will be cancelled without notice or refund.

Any cover we provide (standard or extended contents cover) will be invalidated, and if your parcel damages other people's parcels, we'll recover the repair costs from you. No refunds will be given for any loss or damage to these items, including any standard cover or additional cover you might have paid for.

	Animals / animal parts / livestock and insects / living organisms / body parts
	Antiques
	Artwork and works of art
	Biological samples
	Car and motor bike panels / bumpers / car seats / air bags / batteries / windows
	Credit / debit cards
	Currency / gift vouchers / cashiers or travellers cheques / money orders / negotiable instruments in bearer form / bullion
	Dangerous goods
	Designer goods (including handbags / footwear / clothing / watches / jewellery)
	Drugs (including prescription drugs)
	Dumbbell and gym weight plates
	Firearms including replicas and imitations
	Fire extinguishers
	Goods over our maximum dimension limits
	Hazardous goods and Radioactive material
	Human remains
	Important and legal documents – including but not limited to passports, tenders, share option certificates, identification, medical, travel, land registry or home ownership documentation.
	Infectious substances
	Inks & Toners
	Lighter fluid and matches
	Medicines (including over the counter)
	Paint
	Precious metals and stones (i.e. Gold, Silver, Diamonds etc.)
	Stamps
	Tobacco or tobacco products
	Unprotected Furniture (assembled i.e. sofas / wardrobes / tables)
	Weapons / explosives / munitions (including but not limited to replicas, imitations and blank firing pistols)
	White goods (fridges/freezers, washing machines etc.)

Items unsuitable for carriage

It's also your responsibility to ensure your items aren't unsuitable for carriage. None of the items listed below (or anything similar) can be sent with us under any circumstances. If you send such items, your order will be cancelled without notice or refund.

Again, any cover we provide (standard or extended contents cover) will be invalidated, and if your parcel damages other people's parcels, we'll recover the repair costs from you. No refunds will be given for any loss or damage to these items, including any standard cover or additional cover you might have paid for.

Breakable Goods - all items can technically break, but some are more fragile than others. "Breakable goods" include glass, china, ceramics, pottery, stoneware, fossils, works of art, and TVs with screens over 37 inches. This also includes items made from or consisting of rock (whether igneous, metamorphic, sedimentary, or otherwise).

	Ceramics (including pottery / china / stoneware / marble / concrete etc.)
	Fossils
	Items which are made from, or consist of rock (whether igneous, metamorphic, sedimentary or otherwise)
	Glass (including mirrors/light bulbs/glass screens)
	Paper items
	Televisions or other electronic graphical display equipment with screen size exceeding 37 inches
	Works of art (or similar materials)

Non-Compensation Items

We won't compensate for any items deemed dangerous, prohibited, restricted, valuable, or breakable. The following items (or anything similar) can only be sent on a non-compensation basis. If you send such items, you do so at your own risk.

	Liquids (in any form including alcohol and liquid cosmetics etc)
	Foodstuffs
	Perishable goods
	Plants

Northern Ireland Restrictions

We cannot currently ship alcohol or products containing animal or plant origin to Northern Ireland. This includes wine, cheese, chocolate and flowers.
