DEPOT COLLECTION

You can also choose to have your parcel delivered to your recipient’s local DHL Parcel UK depot so they can collect at a time which is convenient for them. When your parcel has been delivered to the depot, your recipient will receive an email letting them know it’s ready to collect.

If you have booked a home delivery but your recipient isn’t going to be at home, they can opt to have the parcel delivered to their local DHL Parcel UK depot and collect instead. They can do this at any time – even if the parcel is already out on the van.

Packaging Do's

• Always remove any old labels/markings from the box
• Consider using up and down arrows on the box if you want your parcel to stay upright. Please be aware your parcel will be handled at several points throughout its journey – package your parcel correctly to avoid damages during transit.
• Use a clear plastic pocket to affix your label and any extra documentation to the outside of your box.
• Consider polystyrene protection for heavier or fragile items (recommended)
• Seal the outside of the parcel with strong parcel tape.

Packaging Don'ts

• Use damaged boxes.
• Use black plastic wrapping on the outside of your parcel - it cannot be processed through our automatic sorting machines. Your parcel will either be refused on collection/drop off or be returned back to you – incurring a return fee.
• Send lose items in your parcel box. Avoid damage to your goods during transit by properly packaging them.
• Exceed the maximum weight or dimensions or under-declare your weight and dimensions. Your parcel may be returned back to you incurring a fee.
• Leave the box open – it needs to be fully sealed before it is collected/dropped off.

If you don’t live near to a depot, that’s not a problem – you can also drop off your parcel at one of our 3,500 DHL Parcel UK ServicePoints and save money when compared to a home collection. With 90% of the UK population living within a 10 minute journey of a ServicePoint, there’s sure to one nearby.

This is another convenient option to help make sending parcels easy. Our ServicePoints are open from 8am until late so you can pick up your parcel before or after work. Typically located in local newsagents or corner shops, you can even pick up a pint of milk at the same time.

Please note, restrictions apply when dropping off at ServicePoints – parcels must be smaller than 60cm x 60cm x 60cm and weigh less than 20kg. If you are sending a XXL parcel, you will need to use our home collection or depot drop-off services.
