THE GUIDE TO
INTERNATIONAL
BANK HOLIDAYS
LEARN THE KEY DATES TO BE AWARE OF IN POPULAR COUNTRIES
NATIONAL HOLIDAYS ACROSS THE WORLD
Bank holidays, or national holidays, differ across the world. Just because the UK may celebrate a bank holiday toward the end of August doesn’t mean that the USA do – and this can create issues when you’re looking to get a parcel delivered on or before a specific date.
We’ve prepared a list of international bank holidays for some of the most popular destinations for international delivery. Read on to find out more.
WHAT IS A NATIONAL HOLIDAY?
A national holiday is a day celebrated throughout the nation. They can often be referred to as bank holidays, public holidays or even federal holidays, and are established by law.
More often than not, they are considered ‘none working’ days, but some industries may continue to work on these days.
Most postal services across the world are closed during national holidays, so being aware of when you’re sending is key – especially as some holidays change dates year to year, and some holidays are observed before or after a weekend.
