How long will it take to deliver

We offer cheap and convenient door to door delivery from the UK. Simply book your delivery online and our drivers will come and collect your parcel on a day selected by you. Your parcel is taken to its local depot, sorted and shipped overnight to our international distribution hub before being sent on to Sri Lanka.

Whether you choose to have your parcels collected from your home or work address, you can expect delivery to your Sri Lankan destination within 3-4 days from collection when sent by our worldwide air service and depending on customs clearance.

We make every effort to deliver within these timescales; but please bear in mind it can sometimes take longer for your parcel to be delivered to remote and rural locations within Sri Lanka.

Do I need to deal with Sri Lankan customs?

For any parcel heading outside of the UK, you’ll need to fill out a customs form. This tells the Customs Agents in the destination country about the contents of your package so they can process it correctly.

As with most posting to international destinations, when you send a parcel to Sri Lanka from the UK, there are also sometimes customs duties and import taxes that need to be paid. Unfortunately, these charges are calculated at Customs in Sri Lanka, so you can’t pay these charges with us at the time of booking.

When you book your delivery, we will provide you with all the correct forms you’ll need to help your parcel get through customs; using the information you give us during the booking process, we’ll generate a customs invoice for you. We advise you to attach it securely to the outside of the parcel as this will help to avoid any customs clearance delays.

Visit the Sri Lanka Customs website to find out more.

HM Revenue & Customs has more information on tax and customs considerations for Sri Lanka.

What items can't I send to Sri Lanka?

Whenever you send a parcel overseas, it’s important to check the import restrictions of the destination country before you book. It’s sometimes difficult to find a list of restricted and prohibited goods for many countries and Sri Lanka is one of those. Most countries have some restricted items that you might think are ordinary, so it’s best to contact the customs authorities first.

It’s down to you to make sure you’re not sending any prohibited or restricted items into Sri Lanka, so don’t risk being fined, having your parcel seized, or worse, destroyed. Visit Sri Lanka Post for a list of prohibited and restricted articles, but some examples of items you can’t post to Sri Lanka include:

RESTRICTED AND PROHIBITED GOODS

Food

Illegal and dangerous

Other

Meat, poultry and fish

Flammable fuels and liquids Indecent or obscene material

Dairy products

Drugs and derivatives

Perfume
Plants and seeds Explosives Radar/laser/thermal imaging devices

*Please be aware that we also have our own prohibited items list, in addition to country-specific restrictions.

How to package parcels to Sri Lanka

We always recommend being attentive when packaging up your parcel – remember, your items will take quite a long journey and will pass through several depots, many with automated sorting machines.

We will transport parcels up to 25kg in weight, 70x70x70cm max in size – we would advise you use a strong outer box when sending your package and don’t overfill it. Use additional lightweight packaging material such as bubble wrap, newspaper or packing chips around the items. If you’d like further advice on packaging, take a look at our handy international packaging guide.
