How long will it take to deliver
We offer a door to door delivery service from the UK that is cheap and convenient. Simply book your delivery online and our drivers will come and collect your parcel on a day selected by you.
Whether you choose to have your parcels collected from your home or work address, you can expect delivery to Ghana within 3-4 days* from collection when sent by our Worldwide Air service - depending on clearance through customs.
While we make every effort to deliver within these timescales, please bear in mind it can sometimes take longer for your parcel to be delivered, especially to the more remote and rural locations within Ghana.
Do I need to deal with customs?
For any parcel heading outside of the EU, including Ghana, you’ll need to fill out a customs form. This tells the Customs Agents in the destination country about the contents of your package so they can process it correctly.
As with most shipments to international destinations, when you send a parcel to Ghana from the UK, there are also sometimes customs duties and import taxes that need to be paid. Unfortunately, you can’t pay these charges with us at the time of booking as these charges are calculated at Customs in Ghana.
Important: If you are sending personal effects to someone in Ghana, the contents must be declared on the “Passengers Unaccompanied Baggage Declaration” Form. We advise you take care in filling out these details as not doing so correctly will delay delivery or even cause the parcel to be returned or destroyed.
Don’t worry though, when you book your delivery with us, we will provide you with all the correct forms you’ll need; using the information you give us during the booking process, we’ll generate a customs invoice for you. We advise you print off two copies, attach one securely to the outside of the parcel and give the other to the driver when they arrive to collect your parcel. This should help to avoid any customs clearance delays.

What items can't I send to Ghana?
It’s always important to check any restrictions of the destination country before you book a parcel for delivery, whenever you send a parcel internationally.
It can be difficult to find a definitive list of restricted and prohibited goods for several places around the world, and Ghana is one of those. Most countries have restricted items that you might think are ordinary, so it’s always best to contact the customs authorities for that country first.
Remember, it’s down to you to make sure you’re not sending any prohibited or restricted items into Ghana, so to avoid being fined or having your parcel delayed, check the prohibited and restricted articles before you send your parcel.
Some examples of items you can’t post to Ghana include:
RESTRICTED AND PROHIBITED GOODS
Food |
Illegal and dangerous |
Other |
Meat, poultry and fish |
Explosives, inflammable, corrosive or deleterious substances |
Airline ticket |
Dairy products, eggs and honey |
Drugs and narcotics |
Counterfeit items |
Vegetables, fruit and nuts | Firearms and ammunition | Precious metals and stones |
*Please be aware that we also have our own prohibited items list, in addition to country-specific restrictions.
How to package parcels to Ghana
Be vigilant when preparing your parcel – remember, your items will take quite a long journey to Western Africa and will pass through several depots with automated sorting machines to get to Ghana. We always advise you take extra effort to package your items well and use some lightweight internal cushioning material for your parcel, such as bubble wrap or newspaper to secure the items in place. Take a look at our packaging advice here.
We can transport parcels up to 25kg in weight, 80x80x80cm max in size. We would advise you use a sturdy outer box when sending your package and don’t overfill it, regardless of the dimensions of your parcel. If you’d like further advice on packaging, take a look at our International packaging guide.
