Do I need to deal with Czech customs?

Any parcels sent to the Czech Republic will need to undergo customs clearance. This means you'll need to provide a customs invoice with the parcel. Don't worry, this is easy to do - our booking form will gather all of the information needed to complete the booking form and 5 copies will print with your label. Just make sure all of the copies are securely affixed to the outside of your parcel.

In some cases, duties and taxes will apply. These will need to be paid by your recipient before the parcel can be delivered to them. HM Revenue & Customs has more information on tax and customs considerations for the Czech Republic.

It’s up to you to make sure the contents of the parcel you send to the Czech Republic are allowed into the country - failing to do so may result in extra charges, the parcel being returned or possibly even destroyed. Avoid this by making sure you don’t send anything on the DHL eCommerce UK restricted and prohibited items list as well as for the Czech Republic itself.

We alsoadvise to re-check the regulations whenever you send a parcel, as the rules and regulations can change from time to time.

Products such as perishables, ivory and hazardous materials are not only prohibited to send to Czech Republic, they’re also DHL eCommerce UK prohibited items - take a look at the full list before you prepare to send your parcel. How to package parcels to Czech Republic

Depending where in the UK you send from, the journey your parcel will take to the Czech Republic is fewer than 1000 miles – which isn’t the furthest of distances for a package to be transported, but far enough that we advise you make an effort when preparing your parcels. All DHL eCommerce UK packages are likely to pass through a number of depots with both manual and automated sorting machines, as well as the road and / or air transit time, so the occasional scrape or bump could easily happen.

We’ll carry parcels up to 25kg in weight and 80x80x80cm max, but regardless of the size or weight, you ought to use a strong and sturdy outer box to send your items in. Remember not to over fill the box and to use lightweight packing material inside your parcel to help cushion and protect the contents from moving around inside and becoming damaged.
